     Christa Evans hoped for an opportunity to see playing time with the Rutgers University basketball team this season, and she did, in fact, see action in every game the Scarlet Knights played. A week ago, Evans, a freshman from Jackson, was called upon to start against two of the top ranked teams in the nation.

     The township of Jackson could be well represented at the state wrestling tournament in two weeks if a few things fall into place and wrestlers compete to the billing they will carry into the district and regional tournaments.
