     Tom Kaps jokes that he inherited the job as coach of the Jackson Tornadoes, a girls under-16 travel soccer team. Two years ago, the Tornadoes coach needed to resign. Kaps was hand-picked to be the new leader of the Tornadoes.

     The Ocean County Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting golf lessons for children at Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood. The lessons are for children ages 10-15. The fee is $20 for four lessons. All small children must have junior clubs; the park will not provide them. The first session will be on Fridays, July 6 through 27 from 9-10:30 a.m., program No. 213192-1A; or 10:30-11:30 a.m., program No. 21392.
