      • Members wanted for new singles club, "The Quest," which is now forming for men and women age 55 and over in New Egypt and surrounding areas. Open to single, separated, widowed or divorced persons. Many trips are already planned. For more information, call (609) 758-0582.

      • A tricky tray is being sponsored by the Jackson chapter of Deborah on Oct. 26 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Jackson Veterans of Foreign Wars post on Magnolia Drive. Donation is $3. Refreshments will be served. No one under 18 admitted. Details: Ginger, (732) 818-1538.

      • An American theme costume benefit dance is being held on Oct. 26, 7 p.m., at the New Egypt Elks Lodge, 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt. Proceeds will go to benefit the victims of the Sept. 11 attack on America. A $5 donation at the door will allow guests to enjoy a costume contest, raffles, games, 50/50s, hot dogs and French fries, and music provided by Crazy Fingers. A cash bar will be available.       • A craft sale and "granny’s attic" will be held on Oct. 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oak Tree MHP Clubhouse, Diamond Road and Antonio Drive in Jackson. This event is sponsored by the Faith Circle of Jackson United Methodist Church.

      • Halloween Day will take place at the Central Jersey Italian-American Club, Christopher Columbus Boulevard, Jackson, on Oct. 27 starting at 8 p.m. Entertainment will be provided. Free admission. A costume contest will take place. Details: (732) 370-9820 or (732) 363-3070.

      • A Halloween party for all Jackson residents with disabilities (and their families) will take place Oct. 28 beginning at 1 p.m. Sponsored by the Jackson Commis-sion for the Disabled, it will take place at the Senior/Handicapped Center, Don Connor Boulevard. Prizes will be awarded for best costume. Food, favors and music for dancing will be provided. Anyone planning to attend must call the commission at (732) 928-3334 to reserve a table.

      • Holiday craft show will take place on Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Calvary Light-house, 1133 East County Line Road, Lake-wood. The public is invited. Admittance and parking are free.       • A classic car "turkey" cruise will take place on Nov. 4, noon-4 p.m., on Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, sponsored by the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce.       • A fried oyster and chicken salad dinner will be held at the New Egypt Volunteer Fire Company, Main Street, New Egypt, on Nov. 4 from noon till supplies run out. The dinner is served family style. Cost: adults, $16; children 5-12 years old, $7; children under age 5, free. Take-out is available for $17. Tickets are sold at the door.

      • A craft fair sponsored by the Brick Memorial High School cheerleaders will be held Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brick Memorial High School, Lanes Mill Road, Brick. The craft fair is open to all types of handmade crafts selections. Six-foot tables are $30 and 6-foot spaces are $25. Refreshments will be available.
