New Egypt Stewart/Blaney tickets on sale Monday NASCAR Winston Cup stars Tony Stewart and Dave Blaney are coming to New Jersey and New Egypt Speedway’s got ’em. Tickets for "Tony Stewart & Dave Blaney — Down & Dirty," the Aug. 22 blockbuster sponsored by CARQUEST Auto Parts, go on sale June 17 at 10 a.m. exclusively through Ticketmaster. The Thursday night special will feature the two cup drivers in 100 laps of grassroots, clay-flying competition against such seasoned short-track standouts as Billy Pauch, Kenny Brightbill, Keith Hoffman, Frank Cozze and a host of others. Stewart is set to drive Team Goewey’s GE Silicone XST No. 20 Teo-built Modified, powered by a Kevin Enders big-block engine. His fellow Winston Cupper, former Pennzoil World of Outlaws star Dave Blaney, will drive Knoth & Hastings’ Smith Brothers Teo No. 74, with a Precision Engineering big-block under the hood. "The fans will get their money’s worth because I’ll be racing for real," said a confident Stewart, who scored a Midget victory at the Tulsa, Okla., Chili Bowl during NASCAR’s off season. All seats are reserved for New Egypt’s "Tony Stewart & Dave Blaney — Down & Dirty" event to be held Aug. 22. The $24 tickets can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (609) 520-8383 or (215) 336-2000. Fans can also purchase their seats online at www.ticketmaster.com, or at area Ticketmaster outlets, including Strawbridge’s and Boscov’s department stores, The Wiz in Lawrenceville and Brick, Compact Disc World, and at any Tower Records location in South Jersey or Philadelphia. Racing action is set for 7 p.m. on Aug. 22, with gates opening at 3:30 p.m. and practice at 6 p.m. For more information, call the track office at (609) 758-1900. |
