      The following are the results of the Nick "the Quick" Werkman All-American Action Clinic at the McAuliffe School in Jackson on June 28. Johnny Cantalino won the boys’ hot shot competition with 69 points, followed by Dan Iompaglio (62), Carlo Fevsasa (58), Kyle Kelly (56) and Greg Newman (52). Dan Collura won the boys’ foulshooting contest by going 10-for-10, followed by Steve Jozwicki (9-10), Cantalino (8-10), Newman (7-10) and Devon Jones (6-10). Cantalino was the clinic’s MVP.

      At the July 2 clinic, Chris Goodwin was the hotshot winner with 33 points, followed by Adam Herzog (32), Michael Springer (27), Sean Lyons (26) and Jim McDonnell (24). Herzog won the foulshooting contest, shooting 10-10, followed by Brandon Johnson (9-10), Alex Miller (8-10), Michael Valentino (7-10) and McDonnell (6-10). Goodwin was the clinic’s MVP.

      The following are the standings for the Modified Softball League, sponsored by Lakewood Recreation, as of July 3:

      A Jackson-based U15 select travel soccer team is seeking dedicated, experienced players for league and tournament play. Residency is not required. Open to boys born after Aug. 1, 1987. Call (732) 833-1362 for more information.

      Christie Pearce, member of the U.S. Women’s National Team and WUSA’s New York Power, will once again offer her CP3 All-Girls Soccer Camp at various locations throughout Ocean and Monmouth counties during the summer of 2002. The camp is open to girls age 8 through college, and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There are two camps available. The first, a day camp, is open to girls ages 8-14 and provides all participants with new drills and techniques. An Elite Camp is offered in the evening and is open to girls who are freshmen in high school through college. Camp participants will need to provide their own soccer ball, soccer apparel, shin guards, sneakers, water bottle, sunscreen and lunch. All campers will receive an Adidas T-shirt.

      Day camps open to girls ages 8-14 will be held July 14-18 from 9 a.m. to noon at Patriots Park in Jackson, and Aug. 11-15 from 9 a.m. to noon at Oak Glen Park in Howell.

      Elite Camps will be held July 14-18 from 6-8 p.m. at Patriots Park in Jackson, and Aug. 11-15 at Oak Glen Park in Howell.

      The day camp cost is $225 per participant, and the Elite Camp costs $1,509 per participant. Teams of 10 or more who sign up for the same camp receive a discount price of $200 per participant (day camp only). Teams entering camp together must send applications and deposits together.

      To register, participants must submit a completed application form and a deposit in the form of a check or money order for $100 made payable to CP3 Soccer. The balance of the enrollment fee is due in the form of cash or a money order at registration, held the first day of camp.
