Writer claims new Jackson department will produce a plum post In yet another 11th-hour move, on Dec. 9, the Jackson Township Committee voted to create a whole new department. That’s right, an entire department (human services). It seems as if there is no end to the Township Committee’s reckless use of our money. A source high in the Broderick-Kafton administration has said that this new department is being created for the wife of the long-time Jackson Democrat boss Richard Borys. Mr. Borys is the current Democrat municipal chair for Jackson. The new department will be headed by a full-time personnel director, a position that has already been created and has a salary range between $54,500 and $78,000. It also comes with a lucrative benefit package. It appears that it’s going to be a happy holiday for Democrat boss Borys, courtesy of Broderick, Kafton and the Jackson taxpayers. The new department is a gross waste and misuse of tax dollars, unnecessary and just plain wrong for Jackson. Remember, Broderick and Kafton are the same individuals who created the position of aide to the mayor, a $60,000 job that was given to the president of the Jackson Democratic Club, Bob Ryley. Mr. Ryley is the same individual who met privately with the Towne Centre developers. William A. Santos Jackson |
