Sport Shorts The following are the results of the Nov. 27 Nick "the Quick" Werkman All-American Action Clinic, held at the McAuliffe School in Jackson. Nick Quaranta won the boys’ hotshot competition with 22 points, followed by Brian Sullivan (19), David Wilson (18), Brian McLane (17) and Connor Dowling (14). Quaranta also won the foul-shooting contest, going 10-for-10, followed by McLane (9-10), Sullivan (8-10), Wilson (7-10) and Dowling (6-10). Quaranta was the camp MVP. At the Dec. 5 clinic, Justin Alicea won the hotshot competition with 33 points, followed by David Moskal (30), T.J. Liguory (27), Steven Starozytnyk (25) and Zach Sharpe (20). Moskal won the foul-shooting contest (10-for-10), followed by Alicea (9-10), Sharpe (8-10), Liguory (7-10) and Starozytnyk (6-10). Moskal was the camp MVP. New Egypt Girls’ Softball League will be holding registration for all girls ages 5-14 at the NEES today (7:15 p.m.-9:15 p.m.). The fees are $60 for one child; $105 for two; and $145 for three. There is a mandatory Trenton Thunder fund-raiser — four tickets per family at $8 per ticket ($32) or a $20 buy-out. Please be prepared to make two separate payments. Jackson Little League is announcing that the final date for Spring Baseball Registration 2003 will be held on Jan. 18, from noon to 3 p.m., at the Fire House by Crawford School on New Prospect Road. Once again the league will accept applications for children ages 5-12 years old. (Children must be 5 by July 31, 2003, and can be no older than 12 by July 31, 2003). Proof of age absolutely required. The league is also introducing Jackson Junior League Baseball for the first time. This league will be for children ages 13 and 14 years old (not to be 15 years old before July 31, 2003). The costs for these leagues are as follows: T-Ball (ages 5-6) $75. All other leagues— $100. Parents will also be required to submit a $50 work bond check at time of registration.
