Resident upset with Howell mayor’s claim about The Fountains

I read, first with amusement and then anger, the Howell Township Messenger; specifically the message from the mayor.

In his message, Mayor [Timothy] Konopka takes credit for helping lead the fight against The Fountains and the elimination of the portion known as Site 7.

Nothing could be further from the truth. As one of many who have sat there week after week, month after month, watching the mayor bend over backward in his efforts to be accommodating to this developer, I find it highly insulting to my intelligence for him to make such a claim.

The only reason any of this has happened is due to the change in the makeup of the Township Council as of January.

Mayor Konopka, by writing this message, has blatantly insulted a vast majority of his constituents who are the ones who actually did the work that he takes credit for.

Please let everyone know the next Planning Board meeting regarding The Fountains is on April 29. Please attend and there you will see and hear the true message from the mayor.
