Obituaries MILLIE E. SCHOETTLIN ENGEL, 89, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died March 29 in Carriage House Manor, Sayreville. Her husband, Henry C. Engel, died in 1986. Surviving are a niece, Barbara Tye of Laurence Harbor; and two nephews, Brian Tye of Jackson and Kevin Tye of Bayville. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. JOHN C. CONNERS, 70, of Sayreville, died April 2 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was employed by Johnson and Johnson Personal Products Division, Milltown, where he worked for 37 years. After his retirement he worked part time as a bus monitor for Laidlaw Transit, Morganville section of Marlboro. Surviving are his wife, Joan Wanson Conners; four sons, Jeffrey and Glenn, both of Sayreville, James of Bolton, Mass., and Mark of Jackson; a daughter, Debra Hart of Jackson; three sisters, Laverne Strincoski of Spotswood and Barbara Ann Stader and Catherine Stader, both of Williamstown; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sayreville Emergency Squad, Washington Road, Parlin 08859. CHARLES T. PEREZ JR., 48, of Howell, died April 9 at J.F.K. Haven Hospice, Edison. Born in New York City, he lived in Lakewood before moving to Howell in 1989. He was a Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1973 to 1974. He was a wrestling official for the past 20 years and was the vice president of the N.J. Wrestling Officials Association at the time of his death. He was a vice president and loan review officer at Interchange State Bank, Saddle Brook, and a consultant for Bank Americano, Elizabeth. He was a communicant of The Church of St. Veronica, Howell. He was a board member for the Point of Woods Homeowners Association, Howell. He was predeceased by his brother, John, in 2000. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Perez, of Howell; a daughter, Candace, at home; a son Nicholas, at home; his mother and father, Muriel and Charles Perez Sr., of Old Bridge; and two sisters, Donna Horan of Old Bridge, and Dale Serdinsky of Toms River. A mass was offered at The Church of St. Veronica, followed by entombment in Holmdel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charles T. Perez Jr. Wrestling Scholarship Fund, c/o Danny Mullens, 9 Howland Ave., Long Branch 07740. PHILIP BOND SR., 52, of Jackson, died April 10 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Newark, he lived in Cliffwood Beach before moving to Jackson two years ago. He was a maintenance supervisor. He served with the U.S. Marines. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jessica, in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Kenner) Bond, of Jackson; his mother and father, Manuel and Carolyn Souza of Manchester; a son, Philip Bond of Jackson; two daughters, Michele Bond of Hamilton, and Cheryl Mantone of Edison; a brother, William Bond of Tinton Falls; and three grandchildren. BIASE "BENNY" MARAZITA, 85, of Howell, died April 15 at home. He was born in New York City, and lived in Neptune before moving to Howell in 1952. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was an auto mechanic at Matthews Chevrolet, Farmingdale, for 38 years, retiring in 1980. Following retirement, he worked as a part-time delivery person for Lakewood Auto Parts, Neptune and Lakewood, from 1981 to 1993. He was a member of the Squankum United Methodist Church, Howell. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, James and Luigi (Louie) Marazita; and three sisters, Rose Nuzzi, Margaret (Peggy) Graziano and Mary Cruzan. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alma Bills Marazita of Howell; a son, Timothy Marazita of Howell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwendolyn and Charles Linn of New York, and Susan and Daniel Dennis of Ohio; two sisters, Bridget Erving and Lucia Arcangelo, both of Brick; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Johnson of Ortley Beach, Anna Marazita of Freehold, and Shirley Marazita of North Carolina; three granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
