Jackson Little League will hold fall baseball registration on Saturday, Aug. 9, from noon to 3 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 10, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Little League field house on Route 527. Once again the league will accept applications for children ages 7-14 years old. (Children must be 7 years old by July 31, 2004, and can be no older than 14 by July 31, 2004). Proof of age absolutely required. The costs for these leagues are as follows: Coach Pitch (ages 7-8) $55; all other leagues $75. Parents will also be required to submit a $50 work bond check at time of registration. (One work bond check per family). If you have any questions, call Adam Fox at (732) 593-0200 ext. 10.

The following are the results of the Nick "the Quick" Werkman All-American Action Clinic, held July 1 at the McCauliffe School in Jackson. Bryan Specht won the hotshot competition with 28 points, followed by Michael Specht (25), Nicholas Specht (20), Eric Carter (18), Nick Sommese (18) and Patrick Perone (16). Bryan Specht won the foul-shooting contest, going 10-for-10, followed by Michael Specht (9-10), Nicholas Specht (8-10), Eric Carter (7-10), Perone (6-10) and Sommese (6-10). Bryan Specht was the camp MVP.

At the July 11 camp, Jason Kelly was the hotshot winner with 45 points, followed by Frank Villavede (40), Patrick Squeo (29), Mick Oleck (28) and Chris Zoas (27). Squeo won the foul-shooting contest, going 10-for-10, followed by David Wilson (9-10), Sean Forschi (8-10), Kelly (7-10), Oleck (6-10) and Zoas (6-10). Kelly was camp MVP.

The Ocean County Parks and Recreation Department is conducting golf lessons for experienced golfers at Ocean County Park for anyone age 16 or over. The fee is $20 per person. There are two sessions available. The program will run from Aug. 7-28 from 6-7 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. Advanced paid registration is required.
