      Girl Scout scholarships awarded to local girls
           The Girl Scouts of Ocean County awarded its William and Ida Kiefer Memorial Scholarships to 14 Girl Scouts in 2003. The scholarship fund, which is awarded each year, was created by a legacy gift from Ida Kiefer to help graduating senior Girl Scouts achieve their academic goals and help them to realize their full potential.
