      The following are the results of the Westlake Ladies Golf Association’s July 31 and Aug. 7 Ringers event.

      In the 18-hole competition, Dolores Paccione won the A Flight with a 59, followed by Tery Ianellie (60), Diane Leary (60), Pat Hannisch (60), Eileen Anton (61) and Saralee Surett (63).

      Pat Borton won the B Flight with a 62, followed by Paula Barth (63), Barbara Hasaka (64), Cookie Frankel (64), Mary Jane Derosa (69) and Mary Jo Scotese (69).

      Liz Dubroff won the C Flight with a 62, followed by Sandy Schwartz (64), Flo Ildsgaard (68), Barbara Bell (70), Barbara Parks (73) and Bea Rausch (73).

      In the nine-hole competition, Nancy Robbins won the A Flight with a 28, followed by Sandy Kwiecinski (30), Evelyn Alkhas (30), Pat Wilson (31), Gloria Gates (31), Flo Kangos (32) and Gail Trieff (37).

      Ginger Costello won the B Flight with a 28, followed by Gail Williams (29), Sylvia Cohen (31), Lorraine Schneider (32), Audrey Rosenberg (34), Toby Lazan (35) and Barbara Bilenker (36).

      The Howell Heat U10 tournament softball team is holding open tryouts for the fall and 2004 seasons on Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. at Howell Middle School South. Girls must be 10 years of age or younger on Dec. 31. No residency requirement. For further information, call (732) 364-9209.

      A USA Hockey-sanctioned league will hold registration at the Jackson Justice Complex on Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. Teams are currently forming for the fall league, which will begin in September and run through November. Registration fee is $100 for the 10-week session. The league will practice at the Jackson Justice Complex hockey rink.

      All players are required to register with USA Hockey to play on the Jackson Roller Hockey League. The fee for registration is $25 and is a one-time fee per calendar year. There is also a $25 fee to keep a hockey jersey. Please bring proof of residency and copy of birth certificate, as well as skates. For more information, call (732) 364-2608. Volunteer coaches are also needed.

      The Lakewood Recreation Men’s Slow Pitch Softball Fall League will commence on Sept. 2 with all games played under the lights at the Pine Park complex, Monday through Fridays, until Nov. 26.
