Resident amused at mayor’s stand on new government I read with amusement and interest reports about Howell’s Mayor Tim Konopka consenting on a change in the form of government. This is the same mayor that has been in office for over six years and used to have policemen escort people out of town hall who he deemed were out of order (basically anyone who disagreed with him). Fortunately, a new majority took control of our government Jan. 1 and put a stop to this awful behavior (amongst other things). Now after almost seven years as mayor he decides our form of government is not good. Interesting he only came to this conclusion after he lost control of the governing body. Like when he used to have town residents thrown out of meetings for disagreeing with him, now he wants to throw the whole council out because he disagrees with the voters who have put a new team in control. How shameful and deceitful. The only person to be thrown out will be Konopka when his term is up next year and not soon enough. Paul Sayah Howell |
