      ComplXity Winter Guard program starting season

      ComplXity Winter Guard has a series of "working" open houses and will offer two programs for the 2004 season. The dates for the open house will be Oct. 15, Oct. 29 and Nov. 16, starting at 7 p.m., at Herbertsville Road on Lanes Mill Road in Brick.

      ComplXity, an Independent A guard, will compete in both the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Circuit (MAIN) and Winter Guard International (WGI), with plans to attend the WGI Championships in San Diego.

      New for 2004 is ComplXity II, designed for those who cannot dedicate the time or make the financial commitment to a full-time program, or for those with little or no experience. Participants in the program will compete in the main circuit.

      ComplXity Winter Guard is sponsored by Phoenix Drum and Bugle Corps., the Brick Township Recreation Department, the Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts of America, and the Phoenix Parents and Friends Association.

      Children ages 9-14 who are interested in color guard can enroll in ComplXity Jr. which meets at the Emma Havens School on Drum Point Road in Brick on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Interested parties are welcome to stop by and observe or e-mail denisehirth@aol.com.
