Public’s assistance sought in replacing Jackson sign The following is an open letter to all Jackson residents and service clubs. We are sure by now that most residents and visitors traveling along County Line Road have noticed the "Welcome to Jackson" sign is gone. It was destroyed by a hit and run in the early morning hours of Feb. 13, according to the Jackson police. The intent of the sign was to make it known that all service clubs are united to serve humanity and thereby enrich the lives of others in the community. The sign was constructed and presented as a gift to the township by the Jackson Lions Club in 1995. This landmark now must be replaced, and we are asking for help within the community from all service clubs, businesses and residents with this major project. Volunteers and monetary assistance will be gratefully accepted. Interested parties can call (732) 364-1717 or write to the Jackson Lions Club, P.O. Box 1091, Jackson 08527. Thanks for your anticipated cooperation. Ed Giovanelli Secretary/Treasurer Jackson Lions Club Jackson |
