Residents want answers on Dancer’s vote
I am a concerned citizen from New Egypt, Plumsted Town-ship, and I am looking for help from my community; to have our mayor (and state Assembly-man) clarify to us what he really wants.
For the last decade we have been buying farms and open space to preserve our smalltown rural community.
Now we are at a turning point. We are a Town Center community, which will allow large builders to develop large projects on what open space we have left, for "fast track" building. This makes it easier for large builders to get developments passed.
Why would our Township Committee rezone for fast-tracking when we are a farm preserve open space community? This can be reversed before it is too late.
Mayor Dancer, why would you vote yes for fast-tracking in our town on June 17 as assemblyman from our district, when our senator, Robert Singer, voted no with the majority of our Republican party, also on June 17?
Taxpayers and voters, do you realize the impact on our community this fast tracking is going to cause? We will need more special services to maintain our community. That is a larger police force, fire company and first aid. Where will the money be provided to pay for this? Higher taxes again? Also to mention our roads are not adequate to handle the amount of traffic we have to date.
Please inform us — the people of the community would like to know.
