The Jackson Renegades girls fastpitch softball U10 tournament team will hold tryouts for the 2005 season. After a very successful tournament season, the team needs to replenish its roster to replace its older girls who are moving up to the U12s. Tryouts will be scheduled in September. The team is seeking girls who may have some experience in any of these positions: pitcher, shortstop, first base and outfield, and welcomes all girls who are interested to try out. Coaches willing to teach positions to the right players. Players must be born after Dec. 31, 1993 to be eligible. The Jackson Roller Hockey League is now forming teams for the upcoming fall season. Registration will be held Aug. 18 at the Hockey Rink, located at the Jackson Justice Complex. Registration will be held from 6-9 p.m. and will include free clinics and skating. Fees include jersey, and are $125 per skater, $110 for sibling and a family rate (three or more) of $275. USA Hockey registration fee of $25 for membership (not included in league fees). Registration forms may also be downloaded from the Web site at www.eteams.com/jacksonrollerhockey\ and mailed to: Jackson Roller Hockey, P.O. Box 806, Jackson, NJ 08527. The following are results from the Nick "the Quick" Werkman All-American Action Clinic in Jackson:
At the July 7 camp, Brian Delesky won the hotshot contest with 38 points, followed by Anthony Lozito (31), Michael Walsh (29), Sean Giblin (24) and George Marschall (20). Walsh won the foul-shooting contest, going 10-for-10, followed by Delesky (9-10), Giblin (8-10), Lozito (7-10) and Marschall (6-10). Delesky was clinic MVP.
At the July 12 camp, Jason Kelly won the hotshot competition with 60 points, followed by Michael Healy (52), Hasson Renouf (33), Jared Brunett (25) and Drew Seich (20). Renouf won the foul-shooting contest, going 10-for-10, followed by Kelly (9-10), Seich (8-10), Healy (7-10) and Brunett (6-10). Kelly was clinic MVP.
At the July 14 camp, Christian Colon won the hotshot competition with 22 points, followed by Deyzan Glenn (19), Frank Kenny (18), Andrew Artiles (16) and Val Roche (14). Colon also won the foul-shooting contest, going 10-for-10, followed by Artiles (9-10), Roche (8-10), Kenny (7-10) and Glenn (6-10). Colon was clinic MVP.
At the July 18 camp, Mike Peterson won the hotshot competition with 39 points, followed by Brandon Winston (32), Anthony Dinatali (30), Luke Albrecht (25) and Dylan Bali (20). Peterson also won the foul-shooting competition, going 10-for-10, followed by Winston (9-10), Dinatali (8-10), Albrecht (7-10), and Bari (6-10). Peterson was clinic MVP.
