Democrats resolve to remain involved in town

Election season is over — at least for this year. My running mate, Don Knause, and I, would like to thank everyone who supported and encouraged us during this election.

While we did not win, both Don and I are committed to staying involved in our community and fighting for the issues we believe in — lowering property taxes, safety, planning to retain our rural character and transparency in government.

It can be tough and, quite frankly, frustrating to run for office. But with all the negatives, we still feel the positives outweigh any of the downsides. A sincere thanks to the entire community.

Regardless of whom you voted for, everyone who runs for office and who votes to express their opinion cares about this community. And in the end, that’s what it’s all about.
