Jackson Renegades Girls Fastpitch Softball is looking for experienced pitchers for the 2005 season. The league needs pitchers for 10U through 16U, and is a growing organization in Jackson that had a very successful 2004 season.

The Howell Heat 10U girls fastpitch softball team took first place in a “Play for a Cause” softball tournament on Oct. 23 in Old Bridge. This tournament benefited a young girl struggling with cancer. The girls played the tournament to honor the memory of Shirley Stefanelli who passed away two years prior to that date. The players are Deena Stefanelli, Taylor August, Amy Piccicacco, Carsin Conner, Lauren Saal, Meaghan Catanzaro, Emily Cottrell, Kelly Hardiman, Bryana Smith, Erin Drenan and Cailin Winokur.

Howell Basketball Club, a nonprofit organization, will be holding its annual Christmas Tournament, Dec. 13-23. The cost is $350 with a three games guaranteed and a championship game in every age group. All teams entering will receive T-shirts. The winners of the championship games will be awarded championship shirts and the second-place teams awarded finalist shirts. All games will be officiated by IAABO officials.
