Grant Acker, of Howell, was named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) first team as a member of the Gettysburg College football team. Acker, a senior linebacker, place kicker and co-captain, led Gettysburg with 112 tackles (11.0 for loss, 1.0 sack) in nine games this season. The CC’s leading tackler with 12.4 tackles per game in 2004, he recorded at least 10 tackles in a game on seven occasions, including a season-high 20 at Rochester on Sept. 18. Also a first-team All-CC choice in 2003, he finished third on the program’s all-time list with 333 career tackles.

Acker was named to the CC Weekly Honor Roll four times in 2004, including once to the special teams honor roll after returning a fumbled punt return 62 yards for a touchdown and kicking a 37-yard field goal against Hampden-Sydney on Sept. 11. In addition to the touchdown, he converted four-of-seven field goals and 7-10 extra points to lead the team in scoring with 25 points.
