Women of Today plan dinner meeting

JACKSON — The Jackson Women of Today will be holding a membership dinner meeting on Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Dante’s Restaurant in the ShopRite Plaza on County Line Road.

The cost of $20 per person will include a choice of entrée, soup or salad, dessert, and beverage.

The Jackson Women of Today is a group of community-minded women over the age of 18 who are interested in making a difference in the town. Recent projects have included the “Cute Kid Contest,” the “Wish Tree” and the “Victorian Tea.”

The club is also in charge of the Jackson Food Pantry on Don Connor Boulevard. In addition, club members participate in community events such as “Chalk Day,” the township Halloween Parade and Easter Egg Hunt, National Night Out and many other community events. The group has also been active in Jackson Day, the Memorial Day parade, and the Mother Cabrini Festival.

The national project sponsored by the United States Women of Today is the Parents of Autistic Children based in Brick. Many fund-raisers have been planned in support of this group.

Two scholarships are given every year to graduating seniors of Jackson Memorial High School who have been active in community service.
