Ruth A. Voisine
Mrs. Voisine, 65, of Howell, died May 17 at Kensington Manor, Toms River. Born in Neptune Township, she was raised in the Morganville section of Marlboro. She had resided in Howell for the past 30 years and was a member of Ardena Baptist Church, Howell. Prior to retiring in December, she was a school bus driver for the Freehold Regional High School District for 31 years. Mrs. Voisine was predeceased in 1997 by her husband, Clayton J. Voisine. Surviving are two sons, Clayton J. Voisine Jr. of Beach Haven and William J. Voisine of Toms River; two daughters, Linda Gordon of Jackson and Tracey Evans of Texas; two brothers, Peter Hayes of Florida and Rodney Hayes of Sea Bright; two sisters, Helen Bousquit of Connecticut and Janet Rupp of Howell; and nine grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Graveside services were at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
Kenneth John Jacobsen
Mr. Jacobsen, 60, of Jackson, died May 22 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had resided in Staten Island, N.Y., and in Manalapan for 16 years before moving to Jackson four months ago. He was employed by St. Peter’s College, Jersey City, as a computer supervisor. Mr. Jacobsen was a Vietnam War veteran. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Leona Memberg Jacobsen; a son, Erik Jacobsen of Lyndhurst; a daughter, Amy Jacobsen, at home; and a brother, Alfred Jacobsen of Manchester. A funeral service was held at Marlboro Memorial Mausoleum, with Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, in charge of arrangements. George Watson Jr.
Mr. Watson, 58, of Howell, died May 11 at home. Born in Lakewood, he and his family had lived in Ohio, Colorado, England and Germany before returning to the United States. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School, Thomas Edison College in Trenton and Kean University in Union. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. An entrepreneur, he was the director/principal of Watson Security Agent Academy and Juanita Day School; the owner of WSAA Limousine Service, Lakewood; a private detective and guardian ad litem in New Hampshire; a bus driver for Greyhound Lines Inc.; and a librarian/media specialist in various school districts, including Newark, Asbury Park and most recently, Lakewood. He also helped to establish and operate the New Jersey Paralegals Association, for which he served as president. In addition, Mr. Watson ran for New Jersey governor as an independent candidate in the November 2001 general election. A fan of oldies music (especially Motown classics), he also enjoyed playing with remote-control airplanes, watching movies and CBS’ “60 Minutes,” and researching the law. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Cheryl A. (Cochran) Watson; two sons, George Bryce Watson III and Mark B. Watson; his parents, George Watson Sr., an original Tuskegee airman; his mother, Louise J. Watson; and a sister and brother, Tina A. and Maurice. A private memorial gathering was held. Robert G. Derco
Mr. Derco, 67, of Old Bridge, died May 27 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Hazleton, Pa., he resided in Maplewood and Irvington prior to moving to Old Bridge 25 years ago. He was a bartender at Don Quixote Restaurant, Matawan, the past five years. He is survived by two sons, Scott Derco of Pompton Lakes, and David Derco of Belleville; his former wife, Marlene Poth of Belleville; a brother, Gerald Derco of Lakewood; a sister, Anna Marie Derco of Hazlet; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.
