Program on desktop publishing slated

  • The Lakewood Community School is currently accepting registration for a two-week desktop publishing program. Students will be taught to use a software program designed to create personal stationery, business cards, brochures and newsletters. They will also learn how to use text and line art to create professional-looking ads and catalogs. Basic knowledge of keyboard, mouse and Windows is a prerequisite. Class begins Dec. 13 from 7-9 p.m. at Lakewood High School, 855 Somerset Ave. Details: (732) 905-3685.

    • Trip to ‘Radio City

    Christmas Spectacular’

    The Lakewood Community School has a few tickets left for the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular” on Dec. 14. The fee of $88 includes transportation and front mezzanine seating and ample time to see the holiday decorations. Contact (732) 905-3685 to reserve a seat.

    Pine Creek Railroad’s Christmas Express to run

    The Pine Creek Railroad at Historic Allaire Park, Route 524, Wall Township, will begin running its Christmas Express Nov. 25 and continue to run Saturdays and Sundays every half-hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Dec. 18.
