Horse Park plans fundraiser
UPPER FREEHOLD - The Horse Park of New Jersey, Route 524, will hold its Spring Classic and fundraiser April 8. Clinicians Suzy Stafford, Audrey Bostwick and Michelle McBride will all participate in the event, which aims to raise funds for the horse park. Stafford will present "How to Walk an Obstacle." Whether participants want to compete or drive for pleasure, Stafford's goal is to teach driver and equine to set a solid foundation that allows for room to build, according to the press release. In 2004, Stafford was named National Single Pony Champion, and in 2005 she was named Gold Medalist World Champion in England. She regularly works with pairs and singles with many-time U.S. National Champion Lisa Singer. McBride will present "How to Walk a Cones Course." McBride, who owns a farm and a training facility in Northampton, Pa., focuses her training on developing a solid foundation, great ground manners, good fundamentals and balance. Bostwick, who will also participate in the fundraising event, is a founding member of the American Driving Society. She has held her Pleasure Driving Judge and Technical Delegate licenses since 1974. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Horse Park of New Jersey, which will provide lessons at the event. Cost per lesson is $75, and $60 for club members. For $15 per day, patrons can also have unlimited access to the cones course. For more information or to register, call Liz Kwasnik, (609) 259-6153.
