The Garden State Wood Bat League is still recruiting players for its spring/summer season. If you missed the opportunity to attend one of the winter workout clinics, there is still a chance to try out.

Garden State Baseball has been around for 11 years and brings in some of New Jersey's finest amateur players, several of whom have been scouted. It is a competitive league involved in several tournaments and Sunday doubleheaders, looking for players ages 13 through college years. Gymnasts from the Wilton Academy of Gymnastics in Howell competed on March 18 and 19 at a meet held at Worldwide Gymnastics. In Level 4 action, Karlee Makely took fourth in the all-around (35.25) after placing second on the floor (9.4), third on vault (9.4), fifth on beam (8.6) and sixth on bars (7.7). Karlee Long was fifth in the AA (32.95), after placing fourth on the beam (8.2), and fifth on the vault (9.05), bars (7.7) and floor (8.3). Sarah Kowalski was sixth in the AA (30.2), after taking fourth on the beam (7.8). Ashley Goddard also finished sixth in the AA (30.2), while also taking sixth on the vault (8.5) and floor (8.2). Madeline Anasiewicz was eighth in the AA (30-1), while also taking fifth on the vault (9.0). Elizabeth Legregin also finished eighth (31.85) in the AA.

In Level 5 Junior A, Kelsey Baum was seventh in the AA (29.55), while also placing fifth on the vault (8.45).

In Level 5 Junior B, Shani Weiss finished first in the AA (36.5), placing first on the floor (9.25), second on the beam (9.05), and third on the vault (9.2) and bars (9.0). Tori Wilton was fourth in the AA (35.4) after placing first on the beam (9.3) and second on the floor (9.2). Aliyah Slocum was eighth in the AA (33.3), while also taking fifth on the vault (9.1) and floor (8.8).

In Level 5 Junior C, Elaina Vasile won the AA (36.65), while also placing first on the vault (9.45), bars (9.5) and floor (9.3), and second on the beam (8.4). Samantha Gormely took second in the AA (36.05), placing first on the beam (8.8), second on the floor (9.2), third on the bars (9.05) and fourth on the vault (9.0). Jessica Cataldo was fifth in the AA (33.3), placing fourth on the beam (8.4), fifth on the bars (8.2) and sixth on the floor (8.3). Alex Havens finished seventh in the AA (31.9) and took fifth on the vault (8.6).

At a March 26 competition, Karlee Makely took first in the AA (35.60) in Level 4, placing first on the vault (8.9), second on the beam (8.7) and floor (9.2), and fifth on the bars (8.8). Karlee Long took fifth in the AA (33.85) placing third on the beam (8.6), fifth on the vault (8.5) and seventh on the bars (8.6). Ashley Goddard took 10th in the AA (32.75), placing fifth on the beam (8.25) and eighth on the vault (8.4). Madeline Anasiewicz took 12th in the AA (32.35), placing sixth on the vault (8.2). Elizabeth Legregin took 13th in the AA (31.65), while Sarah Kowalsko was 15th (23.75).

At the March Madness meet, held at ENA Gymnastics in Paramus, on March 26, the Wilton gymnasts excelled once again. At Level 5 age 9, Samantha Gormely took fifth in the AA (35.875), after placing first on the floor (9.325), fourth on the bars (9.3) and fifth on the vault (8.8). Shani Weiss was fourth in the AA (35.85), placing second on the bars (9.45), fifth on the floor (9.2) and ninth on the vault (8.6). Tori Wilton was eighth in the AA (34.95), placing sixth on the floor (9.15) and beam (8.7), and seventh on the vault (8.5). Aliyah Slocum was ninth in the AA (34.65), placing fourth on the vault (9.0), while Kelsey Baum was 13th in the AA (30.35).

In Level 5 Age 10, Julia Fronc was sixth in the AA (35.8), placing second on the beam (9.3), seventh on the floor (8.95) and eighth on the bars (9.15). Jessica Cataldo was 11th in the AA (35.05), placing third on the floor (9.1) and fifth on the beam (9.0). Alex Havens scored a 22.95 in the AA.

In Level 5 Age 11 and up, Elaina Vasile took first in the all-around (35.5), placing first on the floor (9.3), vault (9.2) and bars (8.5), and second on the bars (8.5).
