Open house at B'nai Israel slated for Aug. 20

Congregation B'nai Israel, 1488 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, will hold an open house for prospective members Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The temple has also named Dr. Ronen Rotem, Toms River, as its new president, replacing Ruth Kerry, immediate past president. Rotem's goals at the temple include increasing membership and offering more education, programming and classes to attract congregants from all walks of life. He also wants to make Hebrew school free for all Jewish children who want to attend.

Rotem is a dentist with a practice in Toms River, and the father of three young children. He received his degree from New York University College of Dentistry, New York City.

To R.S.V.P. for the open house, call Max or Barbara at (732) 408-1579 or the temple at (732) 349-1244.
