Ocean County College, in cooperation with the Ocean County Personnel and Guidance Association, will host the 35th annual OCC College Night 7-9 p.m. Oct. 17 in the OCC gymnasium. College Night is free and open to the public.
Representatives from approximately 100 colleges and universities from across the United States will be available to answer questions from prospective students. OCC students interested in transferring to upper-division schools, as well as high school students and their parents, are encouraged to attend.
Information on financial aid will be available, including financial aid seminars at 7:15, 7:45 and 8:15 p.m.

Lakewood Community School has sewing classes
Registration is now being accepted by the Lakewood Community School for sewing classes. Classes will be held Mondays at Lakewood High School, 855 Somerset Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning Oct. 16 as part of the fall adult enrichment program. The fee for the eight-week sewing class is $40

Casino Night to raise funds for drama club
The Howell Optimist Club in conjunction with the Howell High School Drama Club Parents Association will present a Casino Night fundraiser on Nov. 4 at Our House Restaurant, Howell, from 7 to 11 p.m.
The ticket price of $50 includes buffet, cash bar, gift auction, $50 in "lucky money," and a chance to "roll the dice" and win $25,000.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Howell Optimist youth programs and the Howell High School Drama Club.

Four-week Microsoft Word class in Lakewood
The Lakewood Community School program is accepting registrations for a four-week course in Microsoft Word as part of the fall adult enrichment program. The class will be held at Lakewood High School on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. commencing Oct. 17.
The instructor will cover the use of tool bars, editing, formatting and simple graphics. Average typing speed is required.

Hadassah of Jackson reaches out to others
Bat Shalom Hadassah of Jackson is seeking young women who are interested in starting their own group under its charter. Hadassah is a women's social club and more. Dog agility will be on
display at county park
The Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation will conduct a dog agility demonstration at Ocean County Park, Lakewood, from 9-10 a.m. Oct. 14.
