      Family would like to see memorial restored
            On the evening of Jan. 5, a 9/11 memorial in Howell on Newtons Corner Road and Memorial Drive was vandalized by someone or some people by stealing solar lights and panels and throwing stuffed animals placed there and pushing around stones with the Howell victims' names on them to the side; these lights have shined on the memorial and the American flag since the fifth year anniversary.

            The taxpayers of Jackson should never forget the financial disaster the previous administration left us with. Mayor Mark Seda and the new Township Council are working hard to turn this around.

      Relief from tax burden should, but will not, begin with politicians
            This is an open letter to Greg Bean, executive editor of Greater Media Newspapers, regarding his Coda column, "If They Won't Do It, We'll Have to Do It Ourselves," that appeared in the Dec. 21 Tri-Town News. I am a resident of Old Bridge and have been for the past 19 years.
