School board candidates file to run
      Six Jackson residents will square off in a race for two three-year seats on the Jackson Board of Education in the April 17 school election. The deadline for residents to submit a petition to run for a school board seat was 4 p.m. Feb. 26. Candidates must be a resident of the town in which they are seeking a school board seat.

'From Bach to Rock' coming to local school
      Students at St. Aloysius School, Jackson, will soon be stepping into the modern age of music. "Young Audiences of New Jersey will present Caryn Lin, an electric violinist, who will be presenting her program 'From Bach to Rock' at St. Aloysius on March 8," said Olive Taylor, a spokeswoman for the school.

      March is Youth Art Month, whose purpose is to emphasize the value of art and art education for all children. It is also to encourage public support and awareness of quality school art programs. Artwork from participating Ocean County schools was judged during February.
