      Officials will begin review of rejected school questions
            PLUMSTED - On April 17, Plumsted had a record turnout of voters (nearly 1,500) for a Board of Education election with five separate tax questions. According to Mayor Ron Dancer, the record turnout of voters resulted in the election of Anthony O'Donnell and Larry Downs to the board.

      Plumsted voters reject school spending proposals
            PLUMSTED - The fate of school finances for the 2007-08 school year is now in the hands of the Township Committee. Residents rejected four of five budget questions the Board of Education had placed on the April 17 ballot. Question No. 1 asked residents to vote on a tax levy of $8,922,792 to support a base budget of $19,799,710 at a tax rate increase of 7.

            JACKSON - Voters have made their decision and two seats on the Board of Education dais have been filled. Winning three-year terms on Election Day, April 17, were Sharon Dey, 1,832 votes, and Linda Lackay, who was re-elected with 1,681 votes.

      Howell council has task to review school budget
            HOWELL - The Howell Board of Education's budget for the 2007-08 school year is now in the hands of the Township Council. On April 17, voters rejected a general fund tax levy of $61.4 million to support the board's $108.6 million budget for the 2007-08 school year. The vote was 2,050 no votes to 1,800 yes votes.
