Fishing derby June 2
      The Howell Parks and Recreation Department will host a fishing derby from 9-11 a.m. June 2 at Echo Lake Park on Maxim-Southard Road. Registration will begin at 8:30 am This program is free to all Howell residents ages 5-14. Bait will be provided; participants should bring a fishing rod. Rain date is June 3.       Kids Castle Nursery School, 15 Emmons Ave., Farmingdale, will sponsor a trike-a-thon to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, April 26-27 The public is invited to attend and help raise funds to benefit the internationally recognized hospital's fight against childhood catastrophic diseases.

Epilepsy Foundation offering scholarships
      The Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey, Trenton, will offer four $1,000 scholarships to New Jersey high school seniors with epilepsy or seizure disorders. The deadline for applications is June 1. Considered for the scholarships are academic achievement, participation in activities, and financial need.

      The Howell Recreation Department is accepting registration for counselor in training classes for summer camp.
