      Supporters made charity event in Jackson a success for young girl
      "There was so much effort made on this child's behalf and the good people of Jackson didn't let us down."
            As the president of the MOMS Club of Jackson East and a co-sponsor of the Easter egg hunt fundraiser for a 3-year-old Jackson girl who is battling leukemia, I want to thank everyone who gave so much of themselves to make our event such a great success.

      Resident appreciates light being shed on incident at school
      "I see people of all races rejoice when their team is winning and discuss what changes they would make when the team loses. For just a moment, nobody is judging people based on race, creed or color."
            I wanted to respond to Managing Editor Mark Rosman's column, "Change Is Not Inevitable," which was published in the Tri-Town News on April 19, 2007. I was not aware of the incident at Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School (MEMS) where a student or adult wrote "Jew" and drew a swastika on a student's poster of Albert Einstein.

      Veterans will appreciate support for buddy poppy drive
            The month of May starts the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America and its Ladies Auxiliary's buddy poppy drive. The funds go to support hospitalized war veterans. Thousands of patients are bedridden for life, and others are destined to spend the rest of their days in wheelchairs. These conditions are multiplied as the result of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
