On Thursday, June 21, the BlueClaws captured the New Egypt Cal Ripken Minor Championship with a 5-4 win over the Red Wings. What made their win even more impressive is the fact that the team went 16-0 this season. The players' ages in this league are 8 and 9, although the BlueClaws had three 7-year-olds on the team.

The players are Daniel DiPasquale, Gino Tortoriello, (batboy) Tommy Vaughn, Reese Gumprecht, Hunter Mulryne, James Sonday, Colin Shanahan, Kyle Stemmer, Andrew Agostinacchio, Timmy Morera, Christopher Puma, Chris Teresczcyn and Joseph Vaughn. The coaches are Andrew Agostinacchio, Sam Notarianni, Dan Morera and Chris Teresczcyn.
