Jackson H.S. student wins journalism award
      Melissa Marini, daughter of Anne and Leon Marini of Jackson, has been named a United States national award winner in journalism and will appear in the 2007 United States Achievement Academy's (USAA) official yearbook, which is published nationally. Melissa, a student at Jackson Memorial High School, was nominated for the award by teacher Bruce Miller.

Benefit golf tournament slated for Sept. 5
      The Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council of Ocean (ADACO) and the Lakewood Rotary Club Foundation will host its annual golf tournament Sept. 5 at Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Lakewood. The proceeds raised from the event will benefit the substance abuse prevention and education programs of ADACO.
