      BlueClaws keep their playoff hopes alive
            LAKEWOOD - A scheduled double-header was rained into one nine-inning game, but it was still a successful night on Monday for the BlueClaws at FirstEnergy Park. Lakewood picked up a 5-0 win over Hickory to move within five games of the firstplace Crawdads.

      Ryan Godown wins his fourth at New Egypt Speedway
            NEW EGYPT - Ryan Godown, of Ringoes, proved that patience is truly a virtue on Saturday night as he took top honors in the 30-lap DIRTcar Modified feature. Godown started 16th and carefully picked his moves as he came through the field, passing race-long leader Rich Ruski with just four laps remaining to post his fourth win of 2007 and collect the $3,000 top prize.

      Racing community mourns the loss of John Blewett III
            Wall Township Speedway lost one of its greatest champions on Thursday in a tragic accident that has left the local racing community heartbroken. At approximately 9:50 p.m., John Blewett III, a 33-year-old racer from Howell Township, was involved in a crash at the Thompson International Speedway in Thompson, Conn.
