      Joseph J. Rossotto

      Mr. Rossotto, 89, of Jackson, died Sept. 16, 2007, at home. He was born and raised in Jersey City, where he had lived before moving to Jackson in 2003. Prior to retiring in 1972, he worked in the gas division of Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) Co., Jersey City, for more than 25 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Rossotto is survived by his wife, Jennie Rossotto; a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Carmella Rossotto of Colts Neck; a daughter and son-in-law, RoseAnn and Walter Woronkewycz of Millstone; a sister, Anna Buttacavole of Toms River; and three grandchildren, Joseph, Jenine and William. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Perrineville section of Millstone, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, New Jersey Region, P.O.       Norbert F. Ruff Jr.

      Mr. Ruff, 46, of Hazlet, died Sept. 20, 2007, at home. Born in New Brunswick, he resided in Old Bridge prior to relocating to Hazlet 11 years ago. He was a newspaper carrier for the Asbury Park Press for 12 years. He served with the U.S. Navy on USS Kittyhawk during peacetime. He was a member of and sang in the choir at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Aberdeen. He was a fan of the N.Y. Giants and Mets, and was a fan of John Wayne. He was predeceased by his parents, Norbert F. and Elizabeth M. Ciccerelli Ruff Sr. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Caputo Ruff; four daughters, Robin, Kristen, Taryn and Erin Ruff, all of Hazlet; a brother, Joseph Mondoro of Jackson; and two nephews. A funeral service was held at Cross of Glory Church. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

      Dorothy Pittenger Statesir

      Mrs. Statesir, 100, of Lakewood, died Sept. 12, 2007, at Harrogate adult community, Lakewood. Born in Freehold, she had resided in Point Pleasant and Freehold before moving to Lakewood in 1993. She was a charter member of The Church in Brielle; a former member of the Reformed Church of Freehold; a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Francis Hopkinson-Monmouth Court House Chapter, Freehold; a member and past president of the Cecilian Music Club of Freehold; a charter member of the Freehold Woman's Club; and a member of Monmouth Grange No. 92 of Freehold. Mrs. Statesir was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, William A. Statesir Sr., in 1992, as well as a sister, Marion P. McIlvane, in 2000. Surviving are two sons and daughtersin law, William A. Jr. and Helen Statesir of Portland, Texas, and John L. Sr. and Audrey Statesir of Jackson; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-greatgrandchildren. A funeral service was held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by private burial at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.       Anna Elizabeth Leger

      Mrs. Leger, 73, of Manchester Township, died Sept. 17, 2007, at home. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and had resided in Freehold Township and the New Egypt section of Plumsted before moving to Manchester Township a few weeks ago. Prior to retiring, she was an operator at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson. She also was a former member of the Millstone Township First Aid Squad. Mrs. Leger was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Leger, in 1987, as well as two sons, Edward J. Leger Jr. in 1964 and Jeremiah Leger in 2000. Surviving are a son, John C. Leger of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two daughters, JoAnn Marie Leger of Howell and Jacqueline Renee Leger of Manchester Township; a brother, Howard Morris of California; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro.
