Joseph Posid
Mr. Posid, 87, of Howell, died Sept. 27, 2007, at home. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he had lived in Ozone Park, N.Y., before moving to Howell 13 years ago. Mr. Posid was a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 19 ½ years in the Kew Gardens, N.Y., and South Ozone Park post offices. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he fought in the European theater of operations. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. He was a member of the Howell Men's Club, Senior Social Club and Senior Friendship Club. Mr. Posid is survived by his wife, Stella Posid; three sons and daughtersin law, Steven and Lynn Posid of Silver Spring, Md., Joseph and Ginny Posid of Atlanta, and Michael and Lynn Posid of Garnerville, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and George Ulitsky of Nassau, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
