            Manalapan knew it had to do something different. After losing to Howell in the Shore Conference Tournament (SCT) final, 1-0, coach John Natoli had to find a way for his soccer team to generate more offense.

      Lady Jags finish 19-5 campaign with 1-0 loss to Steinert in title game
            After all the good fortune the Jackson High School girls soccer team experienced during the 2007 season, the Lady Jaguars pulled up just a bit short last Thursday in the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV championship game against a scrappy Steinert squad.

      Fish On
      Area bass are plentiful
            Water temperatures are finally in the low 50s and the bass are in full swing. From the Raritan Reach, Sandy Hook rips, Romer Shoals, Flynn's Knoll or wherever you were, the birds were working. Bass have been plentiful but mostly shorts, with a mix of small blues. Jigs are producing mostly shorts, while the bigger fish are being caught on clams.

      Jackson Mem., New Egypt fall in state playoffs
            JACKSON - Both the Jackson Memorial and New Egypt high school football teams suffered setbacks in their respective first-round playoff games last weekend. West Windsor South downed the Jackson Jaguars, 28-14, in an NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV match-up, while New Egypt endured a 28-0 shutout to South River in a South Jersey Group I contest.
