      Benefit volleyball game scheduled

JACKSON - Pupils from the McAuliffe Middle School will face off against members of the police and fire departments in a volleyball match at Jackson Liberty High School, 125 North Hope Chapel Road.

Police Officer John Pejoski said the Dec. 7 event will start at 6 p.m. and will feature the Jackson's fire and police departments vs. McAuliffe pupils in a charity volleyball game.

Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for high school and middle school students. Elementary school pupils and younger children will have free admission.

Jackson PBA No. 168 will host the event, which will also feature food, prizes and more.

"The beneficiary of the event is a Jackson School District employee who regrettably had to have her legs amputated to save her life," Pejoski said. "The cost of prosthetic legs will be $60,000 so we're trying to promote this as much as possible as the holidays approach."

Pejoski said a PSP Bundle Pack will be raffled off at the game. The item includes a handheld gaming unit. The PSP Bundle Pack comes with one game, one TV show episode, a power cord and a battery.
