Mrs. Chernowetz, 86, of East Brunswick, died Nov. 26, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Ladislaw Vladimir Chernowetz, died in 1977. Surviving are five sons, William A. Chernowetz, and his wife, Marie, of Great Falls, Va., Gary E. Chernowetz, and his wife, Laura, of Branchburg, Thomas W. Chernowetz, and his wife, Susan, and Frank D. Chernowetz, and his wife, Sandra, of East Brunswick, and James Gardner, and his wife, Debbie, of Brick; a daughter, Lois A. Schweitzer, and her husband, Robert, of Apopka, Fla; a brother, Raymond Smalley of Fayetteville, Pa.; three sisters, Martha Eichert of Edison, Dorothy Voorhees of South River and Meta Kellenberger of Brick; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in St. Vladimir's Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Jackson.
