Kindergarten registration to be held in Howell
      HOWELL - Registration for Howell kindergarten will be held at Howell Middle School North, 501 Squankum-Yellowbrook Road. Parents of children who will attend the Adelphia, Aldrich, Griebling, Newbury or Taunton schools must register Feb. 2; and those who will attend the Ardena, Greenville, Land O' Pines, Ramtown or Southard schools must register Feb.

      The master gardener program of Ocean County has a limited number of 2008 calendars available at Rutgers Cooperative Extension. As long as supplies last, residents can obtain a free calendar at Rutgers Extension Office, 1623 Whitesville Road, Toms River, or the County Connection.

Junior firefighters collect recyclables
      The Adelphia Fire Company Junior Firefighters are collecting aluminum recyclables to raise funds for the St. Barnabas Burn Center's Aluminum Cans for Burned Children program. All donations can be dropped off at the Adelphia Fire Company, Route 524 in the Adelphia section of Howell.
