Concession stand to be built at Justice Complex
Facility will serve new playing fields at Jackson municipal site
Bids will be accepted by Jackson officials for the construction of a concession stand and rest rooms at the Justice Complex off Veterans Highway. Firms seeking to be awarded the contract by township officials must submit a bid to the Municipal Clerk's Office by Jan. 15. "There is going to be a one-story masonry building that will be constructed in a space next to the parking lot," Township Engineer Dan Burke said. "That will be between the football field and the soccer field, and it will have men's and women's rest rooms and a concession area that will be designed to serve several fields in that immediate vicinity." Burke said funding for the concession stand project will come from the same bond issue that is supporting the construction of synthetic turf fields at that location. Township Administrator Phil Del Turco said the concession stand will serve the area near a new synthetic turf football field and synthetic turf soccer area. "This will complement the new fields," he said.Burke added, "This will be a permanent building with a permanent cooking and concession facility." He said the four playing fields are just about complete. There are two baseball fields, one soccer field and one football field. "We'll have to come back in the spring and do a little touch-up landscaping, but for all intents and purposes, the contractor is just about finished," Burke said. Specifications for the concession stand and rest rooms and proposal sheets may be obtained during regular business hours at the office of the municipal engineer, 95 W. Veterans Highway, Jackson, until 48 hours prior to the time set for opening the bids Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. A $50 payment will be required per set of specifications and proposal sheets. No refunds will be made. Contract documents and proposal sheets may be examined in the office of the municipal engineer at town hall. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and addressed to the township clerk. |
