      Do not issue scarlet letter to young drivers
            Having read the most recent editorial pages, I must take umbrage with state Sen. Robert Singer's support of the Jackson GDL (Graduated Driver's License) sticker program, ("Jackson Town Council Deserves Support for New Driver Sticker Effort," Tri- Town News, Jan. 3, 2008).

      Town meetings should start at appointed time
            My wife, Bobbie, and I had decided to attend the Jackson Township Council meeting on Dec. 26 because we were upset with some of the problems that have beset our community in the last two years. The published time by the council for the start of the public part of the meeting was 7:30 p.m. So we had a leisurely dinner and took our time in arriving at the municipal complex.

      Mayor Seda's tenure has been a disaster for Jackson's environment
            Jackson Mayor Mark Seda opted out of the state's gypsy moth spraying program (in 2007) and then was shocked when angry residents started calling his office to complain about their dying trees.
