      Pinelanders Youth Soccer Club, Howell, is accepting registrations for the spring 2008 season. This is a recreational program: games are played on the club's fields Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. Registration is open to boys and girls who will be ages 4-18 on April 1, 2008; birth certificates are required at registration.

Under the radar, Bill Gallacher's Rebels have been one of the area's winningest programs, with two trips to the Central Jersey Group IV championship game in the past three years and three Holiday basketball titles in the past four.

Anglers looking forward to a new year

      With the 2007 season behind us, I look forward to an even better one ahead in 2008. Last year was a year with big fish in all categories. To start, bait fish like peanut bunkers are the true reason why we all enjoyed a great year. Peanuts were in the hundreds of millions along the entire coast and enjoyed warmer ocean temps formost of the year.
