      Program to offer driving safety tips for teenagers
            The Plumsted library, 119 Evergreen Road, Plumsted, will host two free programs about driving safety, Jan. 30 and Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. Kenneth Chrusz of the AAA Mid-Atlantic Foundation for Safety will show two films and conduct talks involving driving safety for teens, their friends, and families. "Drinking, Driving, Disaster" will be shown Jan.

            Laura Petrovich-Cheney, visual arts teacher at the Clifton Avenue Grade School, Lakewood, has been honored as the Eastern Region Outstanding Elementary Art Educator of the Year by the National Art Education Association (NAEA).       Registration for teen dances being accepted
            JACKSON - Registration for Jackson Township theme dances for sixth- and seventh grade residents will be accepted at the Department of Recreation and Senior Services in the public works building on Don Connor Boulevard, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

            JACKSON - The Jackson Division of Animal Control is asking for the public's help in identifying the person or persons who abandoned a dog on West Veterans Highway on Jan. 12. The Cane Corso is a dark brindle color, extremely thin, with sores on her hindquarters.
