      Lady Rebels lose first divisional game

Clarke finished with a game-high 17 points. Howell's record fell to 9-2 overall, 6-1 in ClassANorth competition. The Rebels' next contest is at home today against Manalapan at 3:45 p.m.

      Memorial has good showing at county championships
      Soprano, Suzuki led the way for the Jaguars, who finished ninth as a team
            Jackson Memorial High School senior Marisa Soprano and sophomore Jamie Suzuki put forth solid performances last Friday night at the Ocean County Girls Swimming Championships held at Ocean County YMCA. Soprano garnered a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.69. Suzuki, meanwhile, was eighth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:54.

      New Egypt wrestling in midst of a strong season
            When the New Egypt High School wrestling team graduated nine seniors from last year's squad, coach Kevin English was concerned about the lack of experience and leadership. English wasn't sure who was going to emerge and direct a young squad into the 2007-08 campaign. He was hoping to have one or two upperclassmen step to the forefront before the season began.

            As the deadline for qualifying for the state tournament creeps closer, the New Egypt High School boys basketball team finds itself battling for its playoff life. With an overall record of 7-7, the Warriors need to put forth a huge effort thisweek to get and stay above the .500mark.

      Howell wrestlers win third straight A North
            When Joey Langel, Cody Fobes and Jason Ecklof were wrestling for the Howell Predators recreation program, they used to go to the high school matches watching the likes of Zac Cunliffe and his teammates win championships. Their goal was to become a varsity wrestler for Howell and be a part of that success.
