      Class teaches digital camera use Feb. 27
            The Lakewood Community School Program is accepting registration for a threeweek class on Digital Camera Use slated to begin Feb. 27 from 7-9 p.m. at Lakewood High School, Somerset Avenue. The fee is $25 per person. The class will teach participants how to operate the camera, download photos to the computer, and create albums.

      Girl Scouts come to the aid of homeless animals
            Girl Scout Troop 45, Sassafras Service Unit in Jackson, held a collection for the animals at the Northern OceanAnimal Shelter in Jackson. Troop members collected hundreds of dollars' worth of new and gently used items.

            The Lakewood Community School is accepting reservations for a bus trip to New York City onApril 12. Choice of destination is theMuseum of Natural History, theMetropolitan Museum of Art, or the theater district, where discount theater tickets may be purchased. If participants choose, they can go shopping and have lunch on their own.

      Optimists will host 'Jackson's Got Talent'
            The Optimist Club of Jackson will host "Jackson's Got Talent," a show featuring Jackson's talented residents, onMarch 29.       Computer class for beginners in Lakewood
            Registration is in progress for a Computers for Beginners class offered by the Lakewood Community School. This twoweek course, with a fee of $25, will be held at Lakewood High School beginning Feb. 26 from 7-9 p.m. and is specifically designed for adults with little or no knowledge of computers. Class size is limited.
