Tickets available for Kimball car raffle
      LAKEWOOD - Raffle tickets are currently being sold for the Kimball Medical Center Foundation's car raffle to benefit the hospital's Mother-Infant Pavilion. The winner of the raffle will have the opportunity to select any 2008 Pine Belt Auto Group vehicle with a manufacturer suggested retail price of up to $40,000.

Stop smoking class to be offered April 1

Pipes & Drums of the Atlantic Watch at library
      The Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library invites the public to enjoy an evening of Irish and Scottish music March 27 at 7 p.m. Those who attend the free program will learn the history of the bagpipes and celebrate Celtic heritage with traditional Scots-Irish bagpipe music. Members of the Pipes and Drums of the AtlanticWatch will present the program.

      Georgian Court University, 900 Lakewood Ave., Lakewood, will host its 16th annual Science Career Day from 9 a.m. to noon March 28 at the Casino Building on the historic Lakewood campus. This year's event will include career opportunities in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and psychology.

Lakewood art students among contest winners
      The following Lakewood High School students were recognized for their work in the area of visual arts in the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival: Alejandro Mota for "Lovers' Embrace" (white pastel pencil on a black velvet paper), and Oscar Pastrana for "Flashback from Vietnam" (scratchboard). Both students were awarded a place in the state Teen Arts Festival.
