      For second-year Jackson Memorial High School boys golf coachDrewGibson, earning a berth into the state playoffs would be an encouraging sign that the Jaguars program is getting back on track. After finishing last year with an overall mark of 7-12, Jackson is off to a 3-2 start so far this season,which includes victories over BrickMemorial, Lacey Township and Lakewood.

Local charter boats picking up steam, thanks to warmer weather

      The Raritan Bay gave up a steady pick of flounder this past week. Keyport, Morgan Creek andUnion Beach were hot spots. Anglers did manage to catch and release a few reported bass as well. Most charters had to work extra hard to get to their flounder limits. Sandworms, clams, mussels and plenty of chumare themain ingredients, and the bait shops are stocked with them.
