Local student attends leadership conference

HOWELL- Zane Nelms, a student at Howell Middle School South, took part in the Congressional Youth Leadership Council's (CYLC) Young Leadership Conference, held Feb. 7-10 in Princeton.

The National Young Leaders State Conference in New Jersey honors and recognizes outstanding middle school students for their scholastic achievement and leadership potential.

Students must be nominated by a teacher to attend or selected based upon extraordinary academic achievement.

Zane was nominated for this honor by Kristanne Leggio of HowellMiddle School South.

Since 1985, CYLC has inspired more than 200,000 young people to achieve their full leadership potential, according to a press release.
